The Accidental Farm is more than a shop; it's a journey of passion and creativity. Having lived in Southeast Alabama since 2010, we longed for more space to call our own.
In 202o that dream came true and The Accidental Farm was born.
Originally from Scotland, Tom enjoyed the feel of "a home away from home". I, on the other hand, had always been a city girl, but quickly embraced the tranquility and peace of our new found country life.
We quickly added ducks to our pond (our first "farm animals") and I jokingly referred to us as accidental farmers...and it just stuck.
In 2023, after completing chemotherapy, I wanted to add Highland cows to our family. After all, you can't be married to a Scotsman and not own them right?! 😆 Tom told me if I could find them in Alabama, I could buy them. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!
A short time later we welcomed 2 steers; Angus (red) and Malcolm (white) to our accidental farm. They are the cows featured in all of our products. ❤️ No AI generated animals for us!
In addition to our pasture puppies and 14 feral a$s fowl, we also have 5 house horses: Gunner, Paisley, Ryker, Koji, and Frank.
While not a working farm, we do host events from time to and enjoy sharing our accidental farm with those around us.
